Welcome to "All the World's a Stage"
Let your child's imagination soar as they write and perform their own plays. In the first couple of weeks we explore their creativity as we collectively come up with original and fascinating ideas for the play. We then spend the next few weeks using improv to create the characters and their dialogue. Using stream-of-consciousness to write the dialogue, allows the children to be free to be in the moment and speak truthfully as their character. Once the script is completed, they receive a professional-looking script. They are assigned parts as we rehearse the play. On the final day of class, the children, in full costume, get to perform their original play in a Manhattan theatre in front of family and friends. A professional lighting and sound person is used to enhance the production.
